5 events to check out in Folsom this Christmas


This year we’ve decided to spread the Christmas spirit by compiling a list of 10 of what we think are the best holiday events in Folsom. Whether you live in the area or plan to spend your holiday vacation in Folsom or Sacramento, considering joining in on some of the fun!

1.  The Nutcracker
-    From December 13th through December 16th at 10 College Parkway, Folsom

Join an enchanted journey through the Land of Snow and Kingdom of the Sweets in this timeless holiday classic, The Nutcracker. Infusing fantasy with comedic choreography and stunning costumes, Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet Theatre transforms this wonderful ballet story into a feast for the eyes. Audiences of all ages will be swept away as they enjoy this spectacular holiday tradition. Get your tickets starting at $18!

2.  Frostbite
-  Saturday, December 15th at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 16th at 2:00 p.m. at 415 C Street, Galt
    Join the party at this holiday concert featuring Herobust and Phase One. This festival like event will keep you cheering all night long with electric music and special presentations. 3.  Big Band Christmas

-    Wednesday, December 19th at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm in Harris Center for the Arts, 10 College Parkway, Folsom

Get into the holiday spirit with classical Christmas hits from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. This concert features the music of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, Rosemary Clooney, Nat King Cole, and the Andrews Sisters. Come see why ‘it’s the most wonderful time of the year’ with over 17 musicians on stage playing the most popular music from the Big Band era. Check it out; tickets start at $25!

4.  Wild Nights and Holiday Lights
-    December 1st through December 31st from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary, 403 Stafford Street, Folsom.

Celebrate the magic of the season by supporting the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary. Not only will you have the opportunity to see exotic animals, you’ll also experience the magic of thousands of colorful lights decorating the grounds, buildings and exhibits at the zoo. An enchanted forest of beautifully decorated trees provides a colorful backdrop for Santa’s nightly visits; carolers fill the air with seasonal cheer and zoo bear mascot Santa Paws greets guests and poses for photos. Gather your loved ones and head out to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary. General entrance is only $7!

5.  Folsom Historic District Ice Rink
-    Through January 21st from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM at Historic Old Folsom, 905 Sutter Street, Folsom.

Put on your skates and head out to the coolest place in town! The Historic Folsom’s Ice Skating Rink is now open for everyone to enjoy. Plus, the Ice Rink Party tent overlooking the rink is the perfect place for birthday parties and special occasions. So, make it a plan to join in on the fun this Christmas! General admission is $12.
