It\u2019s not safe to replace a tire on any kind of steep incline. Make sure to put the parking brake on as well.&nbsp; &nbsp; 2) Find the jack and tire iron (lug wrench). Most new models of cars and trucks come with a jack, tire iron and spare tire in the trunk or under the rear cargo area. &nbsp; 3) Place the jack underneath the jack point. You\u2019ll find this in the owner\u2019s manual (typically left in your glove box). On most vehicles, there are four jacking points. They&#8217;re located under the car&#8217;s rocker panels, just behind the front wheels and just ahead of the rear wheels. &nbsp; 4) Raise the jack until the tire is 2-3 inches off the ground. Safety tip: Use your eyes to measure, not your hand! Never place your hand beneath the tire. &nbsp; 5) Make sure to test the vehicle\u2019s stability on the jack by gently pushing on it. &nbsp; 6) Remove the lug nuts with the tire iron by turning them counterclockwise. (Remember, \u201cLefty loosey, righty tighty.\u201d) &nbsp; 7) Once the lug nuts are removed, you should be able to take the wheel off the vehicle. &nbsp; 8) Place the spare tire on the car. &nbsp; 9) Using the tire iron, tighten the lug nuts on the spare by turning them clockwise. &nbsp; 10) Lower the jack and remove it; then tighten the lug nuts one more time to be sure. &nbsp; You did it! That\u2019s all it takes: 10 simple steps. &nbsp; Always check your owner\u2019s manual for the maximum speed while traveling on your spare tire. It\u2019s usually around 50 MPH, so be safe! Check your tread and air pressure regularly to keep from having to worry about changing a tire &#8211; plus, you\u2019ll also save on gas.
